Where do you even begin..... for me it was when I was 7 years old and my mom taught me how to sew for the very first time on my very own singer machine. Before this I was taught hand stitching and other various needle work but sewing on a machine was the big leagues!! I still have the first patchwork item I made and it humbles me to see where I was to where I am now. So much time has gone by and we flash forward to today. I started Simply Pretty Posies over a year ago with the intension on making a little money here and there to help out with gas or grocery as I had decided to stay home with my kids and stopped being a SPED teacher. I felt like I wanted to contribute in someway so I opened up shop on June 29th 2019. Selling just some baby blankets, hats, taggies, and other fun baby things I was so excited. I remember making my first sale and thinking how cool is this, I made something and someone across the US bought it from me.....how life changing. And it truly was just that......life changing. Some time had went on and I had thought about how I made a "special" bear for my daughter when she turned one made from her little outfits she had worn at various times in her first year that were precious to me. I didn't even know that memory bears had existed at that time but just knew it would be something fun for her to have and let me tell you she's 4 now and still LOVES her Bearetta (she named her bear). I wanted to start having this be an option in my shop for other little people so thus began my memory item journey It turned into more than just things for kids but for all sorts of people suffering a loss or a memory. I made my first memory bear sale and it has just boomed from there. Not only do I do bears now but quilts, chicken coop signs, and so much more. I have always been a believer in the saying " everything happens for a reason " and this feels so true when it comes to my shop. There has not been a person that has came through my shop that hasn't touched me in some way. So many stories big and small things that have happened to them along the way and wanted a memory item made to encapsulate a persons memory and how special for me to be able to do that for someone. I take everyones trials and tribulations and make them my own and feel so touched by everyone I have met along the way. If there was a way were I could do everything for free and just make things for people because they need them and it will help them cope, or morn a loss, or celebrate a graduation I so would because it means that much to me to be able to make these things for my customers....... Stay humble, stay positive, stay amazing, and live a simply pretty & beautiful life.
